Thanksgiving Week…

To the gentleman who paid for my gas – w4m – 39 (Keller Racetrac)

We had a payroll snafu this morning, and when my card didn’t work, I stood there holding my baby and panicked. How would I get to work???

And then the clerk touches my hand and says, “that dude just paid for it”. I had another item too, and said that was so nice, I was touched at just that, and she said, “NOOO, He paid for ALL of it!” What?!?!

You, sir, have renewed my faith in humanity, and I will remember you for the remainder of my days. I had to find you in the parking lot as you didn’t even wait around for a thank you. Beyond your incredible act of gentile compassion, I thought you were very attractive too, and would love to make you dinner sometime as repayment. In any case, I am truly grateful for you. You were my mystery angel today.

Thanksgiving Week…

Sandwiches made with love – w4w – 21 (Tempe)

You bummed me a cigarette behind the Subway that you work at, and if there’s even the slightest chance of you reading this, I just want to say thank you. I’d been having a terrible day and I was just walking for the sake of walking, walking to not be home, walking to not be anywhere. But you gave me a cigarette and provided a lighter and stood and talked with me until your boyfriend got there, and for that I think you’re an incredibly lovely person. I can only hope that you’re as happy as you deserve to be.

I am looking for the man who paid for my prescription. Middle aged African American man with 3 children and a wife. I am 18 weeks pregnant and was crying because I had been throwing up blood for past 2 days and been unable to hold down any food without my nausea medicine. We were talking for a few minutes on the bench beside the pharmacy while waiting for our prescriptions. Medicaid refused to cover it and I didn’t have the money to pay for it so I left the store disheartened. You overheard what had happened and paid 88 dollars for my prescription out of the goodness of your heart. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my soul for helping a stranger the way you did. I’m sure things are not easy for you either but you helped me. You are an angel. Since getting the medicine I so desperately needed I ate my first meal in 2 days and my baby received nutrition. Thank you. I hope one day if I ever do see you again that I am able to thank you. You are an angel. I will be on the lookout to help someone in the future the way you helped me, as well. God Bless You and your family. Thank you.

Sincerely,
 —

P.S. You didn’t know it…but tomorrow is my birthday and you gave me the most wonderful gift anyone could ask for. Renewed faith.

I left my purse in my cart when I left Walmart today. 15 minutes later, I realized it was missing and (after frantically searching my house, bags, and car) rushed back to Walmart to find it. When I saw all the carts in the stall were empty, I pretty much lost any hope I had of getting it back. I couldn’t believe it when the lady behind the customer service counter handed it to me and said it had been turned in. Nothing was missing from it. It didn’t even look like it had been opened. I got back to my car and cried out of sheer relief. I don’t know who you are, but I wanted to thank you for being so kind and saving me from myself and my forgetfulness. You are a wonderful person.
